Welcome!Thank you for your interest in our school and we hope you find this site helpful in answering any of your questions. In 1959, an unlikely artist was inspired by the Stuttgart Tower in Germany and sketched a vision of a dominant central structure for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair on a napkin in a coffee house. This was the Space needle. In 1965 the German Language School was founded, so we can proudly say we have been in Seattle for almost as long as the city’s most famous attraction and landmark. Culture and Customs In addition to language instruction, students are introduced to the culture and customs of the German speaking countries, including Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. The upper grades study the literary traditions of these countries. Students, parents and teachers celebrate together at the annual Nikolausfeier, Fasching, and the end of the year picnic. Start Now The earlier children begin to learn a second language the greater their success will be. Foreign language knowledge is essential for advancement in today’s global economy. |
